Rochester, NY is home to a growing and vibrant games community, fueled by local talent from Rochester Institute of Technology and other colleges and universities. Rochester is also home to several local indie game studios and community asset The Strong National Musuem of Play. In 2015 RIT was named a digital games hub by Empire State Development. With this designation is a charge to raise the public profile of the game sector in New York state by creating collaborative activities that bring together industry, higher educational institutions, non-profit organizations, students, and individuals to foster the creation of new games or game based companies.
The Made In Rochester Game Festival is a collaborative event between the Irondequoit Public Library and RIT’s MAGIC Center to showcase video games and tabletop games developed in the Rochester area by students, game enthusiasts/hobbyists and professional game developers.
This event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Irondequoit Public Libary from Noon-5:00PM!
