National Zoo Keeper Week

Join us in celebrating our hardworking, amazing animal care staff during National Zoo Keeper Week. Displays, keeper chats, and experiences will give recognition to our keepers and the importance and complexities of their work. Learn the many “hats” of a keeper, and find out the importance of the bonds they share with our animals.

Discover everything that goes into a day in the life of a zoo keeper, including behavioral training, diet prep, veterinary care, habitat maintenance and design, horticulture, education, and conservation.
Connect with animal care staff and learn about the conservation efforts they are working on, both at the Zoo and in the field.
