Photogravure with Patricia Bacon on the Weekend of March 4 & 5 from 10am - 3pm.
In this two-day workshop students will learn the art of photopolymer gravure printing from renowned artist, Pat Bacon. Using light-sensitive steel-backed plates, participants will create gravure etching prints from their photographs. No prior experience with printmaking is required. All necessary aspects of printmaking will be discussed including choosing inks, papers, and wiping materials. Students will each create two A5 plates and multiple prints.
Note: Prior to the start of the workshop, participants will be asked to send image files (300 dpi at 10” on the long side) to be made into a digital positive. An email with details will be provided once you are registered.
