For National Poetry Month, join poet Kathleen Wakefield in a workshop for would-be poets as well as those looking for new ways to get their writing going. No credentials needed! We’ll read some poems as springboards for inspiration and try out some playful “exercises” to stir up the poems inside us.
Kathleen Wakefield is the author of several books of poetry, including Notations on the Visible World, winner of the 1999 Anhinga Prize for Poetry, and recipient of the University of Rochester Lillian Fairchild Award. She has received grants from the New York State Foundation for the Arts, the Constance Saltonstall Foundation, and Mount Holyoke College. She taught creative writing at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester.
