Shorebird Carving Class
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/22/2023
Carve out some time to learn a new skill! Join instructor Chris Kieber for an introductory woodcarving class for adults and learn how to carve a realistic shorebird, much like the decorative decoys featured in the exhibit Duck, Duck, Shoot! The Story of American Waterbirds. This class will include a short curatorial lecture on real shorebird decoys featured in the exhibit. Participants should plan to bring a pair of cut-resistant gloves and a basic wood carving knife. (Participants ages 18+ are welcome for this event.)
