Hairwork, in its many forms, established itself as a longstanding tradition by the latter half of the 19th century. Husbands went to work wearing watch fobs fashioned out of their wives' hair. Locks from the dearly departed were mounted into rings and brooches. At the time of rising commercialism, sentimental hair work became a way to signal one's sincerity and was a treasured keepsake. Learn about the history of the craft, view samples, and watch a demonstration of the process.
