Join us from the comfort and safety of your home to celebrate World Otter Day, Wednesday, May 27.  We’ll have live animal experiences and keeper chats,  projects to do at home, and a chance to win a behind-the-scenes experience with Ashkii and Sailor when we reopen! This event is free.

10 a.m.  – Otter Enrichment and discussion with Zoo Keeper Catina Wright.

12:15 p.m. – Wednesday Wildlife Wonderings Lunch & Learn with Dr. Caroline DeLong, Professor and Undergraduate Program Director at RIT.  Dr. DeLong will share research she conducted with the Zoo’s otters in a presentation titled “What We Know about Vision in Otters.”

1 p.m. – Otter Enrichment and discussion with Zoologist Brian Sheets.

2 p.m. – Presentation by Dr. Larry Buckley, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Biology at RIT.  Dr. Buckley and Interim Zoo Director David Hamilton will share insights from the genetic research they are conducting on otters across accredited Zoos and Aquariums.
