BLACKSMITHING SAMPLER: Soapstone Holder

Get fired up with this hands-on introduction to blacksmithing—the timeless craft of shaping hot metal with hammer and anvil. In this exciting sampler class, you’ll make your own soapstone holder, a simple but essential tool used for holding soapstone sticks to mark measurements on steel. Learn basic forging skills like tapering, bending, and twisting as sparks fly and steel comes to life under your hammer. No experience needed—just enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!

Our experienced instructors will use a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on instruction at the forge to enhance your learning experience.
All safety equipment and smithing materials are included in the course price. Great for beginners and experienced tradesmen!
