Are you interested in learning a versatile technique that can apply to form and surface? Join us as Dallas Wooten demonstrates his unique approach to water-etching and discusses various methods to utilize this fascinating technique. Water-etching is a process that erodes the surface by simply wiping it away with a sponge, while protecting patterns with resists. Water-etching is capable of altering forms, creating subtle or graphic patterns, and is suitable for glazed or unglazed works.
Wooten will also discuss a variety of the tools he makes, colored porcelains and different stains, various concerns when choosing what forms work best for the process, and what clay bodies work best for the process. This demonstration workshop is suitable for potters of all levels, or anyone interested in the ceramic process.
