About the Event

MAG’s newest exhibition, Drawing as Discovery: 500 Years of Drawings and Watercolors from MAG’s Permanent Collection showcases over 100 stellar works selected from the museum’s holdings of over 2,000 drawings. The exhibition unites work across a breadth of cultures and time periods by the common principle that the very act of drawing is at the heart of artistic creativity. Join us and the Creative Workshop’s Lizz deSimone as she breaks down artistic techniques used by artists such as Edgar Degas, Georgia O’Keeffe, Francisco Goya, Rembrandt van Rijn, and Kara Walker, who all have work on display in the exhibition. Lizz will give you some tips and tricks on how to make your drawings come to life as we sketch our way through the various works of art.
