Homeschool Program Fall II

We’re not your typical classroom! Camp Arrowhead offers 55 acres of fields, creeks, and wooded areas for your homeschooler to explore. Each Wednesday, students will learn though hands-on activities that focus on environmental, cultural, historical, and scientific topics.
Children, ages 5-15, will be broken up by age groups wherever possible. The program will run from9:30 am to 1:30 pm each Wednesday. We highly recommend registering ahead for supply and staffing purposes.
Please be sure to let us know of any dietary restrictions and/or allergies, as we may be making time-period snacks during the day or using food in activities. Your homeschooler should be prepared for each class with weather-appropriate attire, a lunch, water, and sneakers. There will need to be a minimum of 6 children to run any week’s programming.
YMCA Family Members- $35 per class; $28 per class when you register for all 6 classes
Program Members- $45 per class ; $38 per class when you register for all 6 classes.
NEW: Pool Pass: register for 4 out of the 5 sessions and receive an Arrowhead pool pass for the summer.
Sibling Discount: Receive $15 off each additional child when you register for the entire session

November 4th-- Orgegon Trail
Circle up the wagons for a Camp Arrowhead tradition! Students will be broken into small teams as they forge through the woods and fields of Arrowhead hoping to make it through the Oregon Trail with all their supplies. They will need to be careful of diseases, robbers, and harsh weather as they travel together to the final destination.
November 11th-- Wood Works
Students will be doing plenty of hands on building on this day! We will go over blue-prints, measuring and cuts, hand-tools, and building materials. Students will build their own miniature toy box with the help and supervision of staff. We will also be making stilts and chairs for homeschoolers to enjoy at Camp year round!
November 18th-- Happy Birthday to the Big Mouse
In honor of Mickey Mouse’s birthday we will be spending the day learning about Disney! Students will be creating their own stories as we learn about Walt Disney and the characters he has brought to life.
December 2nd-- 50 Nifty
Learn about the 50 nifty United States. As we travel across country the class will learn interesting facts about how the United States was formed and what major traditions, industries, and customs states are known for.
December 9th-- Probability
What is the probability your child will have fun today? Odds look to be in our favor! The class will be participating in active and hands on games that use probability and chance to determine your next moves.
December 16th-- Chain Reaction
Create a series of chain reactions using dominos, books, blocks, and more. Older students will learn about inertia and force. Younger students will touch on cause and effect. Students will see how long we can make our chain reaction run.
Holiday Breaks:
There will be no Homeschool November 25th due to Thanksgiving. The last class in this session will be December 16th. After December 16th Homeschool will not resume until January 6th.
