Filmmakers Paul Lamont, Scott Sackett, and Caleb Abrams explore the history of the Kinzua Dam on the Pennsylvania’s Allegheny River and its impact on the Seneca Nation. Completed in 1965, it was originally proposed to help mitigate flooding in the City of Pittsburg - 200 miles downriver, but the 27-mile reservoir that formed behind it inundated vast tracts of Seneca ancestral lands, forcing their removal in breach of the Canandaigua Treaty of 1794, the oldest US-Indian treaty in effect. This film is narrated by Gary Farmer. Ganondagan recognizes the generous support by The Hon. John C. Ninfo II for this event.
