Join us for EPI’s Seizure Recognition and Response training, a general overview of seizure types and first aid. It provides a foundation for the general public to recognize and appropriately respond to the most common seizure types. Registration required.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Topics covered include: Definitions & prevalence of epilepsy, seizure triggers and causes of epilepsy, common seizure types, seizure first aid, seizure action plans, when to call 911, SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), epilepsy treatments, the stigma of epilepsy and mental health concerns in people with epilepsy. Presentation concludes with a brief description of supports available for those affected by epilepsy offered by EPI.

Presenter is Michael Radell, Education Coordinator/Camp Director. Mike has worked for EPI for 25 years and has been providing seizure training and epilepsy education for the past 15 years. Mike has personal experience with epilepsy as he was diagnosed in his late teen years and has been seizure free for almost three decades. Please sign up to save your seat.
