Stargazing Hike

Join the Crescent Trail Hiking Association for a Stargazing Hike with host Marian Hollar at White Brook Nature Area on Saturday, September 28th at 8:00 PM. Marian will bring her telescope so that we can view the stars after the hike. One year we were even able to see the rings of Saturn!
Parking: White Brook Nature Area
- 250 Aldrich Rd, Fairport, NY 14450
- Please approach Aldrich Rd via Rt 31 as a portion of Aldrich Rd is closed due to construction
Distance: ~ 2 miles
Difficulty: easy-moderate
Recommended Gear:
- Water bottle
- Layers
- Hiking shoes/boots
- Bug spray
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Binoculars (optional)
- Hiking poles (optional)
Trail Conditions (subject to change):
- Flat
- It will be dark so we encourage you to bring a flashlight or headlamp. We will provide a special material to go over the lights to ensure our eyes are adjusted so we can see as many stars as possible.
***Because this is a weather-dependent hike (we won't be able to see the stars if it's cloudy or rainy) please check this event or our website to confirm if the hike is still on as scheduled. We will reschedule if it needs to be cancelled.***
As always no reservation or sign-up is necessary, just show up! Please note, we very rarely cancel for weather and we ask that you not bring dogs on our guided hikes. Feel free to message us with any other questions.
