Tai Chi is an effective exercise for numerous aspects of health, wonderful for increasing flexibility, muscle strength, lung capacity, and cardiac function. Both Tai Chi and Qigong have additional health benefits for relaxation, balance, posture and immunity.

In this class, you will learn exercises to help detoxify the body, as well as make healing sounds for the different organs. You will also experience a short, 10-minute sample of the beginning movements of the Sun Style Tai Chi for arthritis form, a gentle, relaxing exercise program that is simple to follow and easy to learn.

Please note: Students should wear comfortable, movement-friendly clothing.

About the teacher:
Wendy Smith is certified in Qigong by Master Yang Yang through the Center for Taiji Studies, and is certified in Tai Chi for Arthritis through Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi Productions. She has been a student of Qigong since 1999, practicing as a teacher in Qigong and Tai Chi in the Greater Rochester area since 2003. Her unique style is a blend of different approaches resulting from study with four different Masters, emphasizing the special needs of her clientele, the seasonal needs of our bodies, and the combination of both active and passive Qigong. Due to popular student demand, she produced a DVD entitled Qigong with Wendy, now available as a video download (Qigong with Walking Animal Frolics), focusing on movements for health and vitality. For more information about her multiple video downloads (AM Qigong, PM Qigong, Seated Qigong and Meditation, etc.), classes, background, techniques, and testimonials, please visit her website.
