Self defense class
Saturday December - 4 - 6 pm. For women and girls (ages 12+).
Self defense is important for everyone! Having the skills to extricate yourself from a threatening situation is an important skill, so understanding the basics and brushing up on strategies from time to time helps maintain your confidence in your ability to move through the world. On December 30, from 4pm-6pm, Martial Arts America is hosting a self-defense class for women and girls; it is open to the public for women and girls age 12+ at its dojo in Brighton. You'll learn basic skills and knowledge about how to deal with basic self-defense situations such as grabs, chokes, punches, and more. They'll also cover common-sense tactics to help you avoid dangerous situations. It's the perfect exercise to end a holiday week, a healthy and positive way to launch into the next year, and a terrific bonding experience if you decide to attend with your daughter (encourage her to bring friends!). The cost is $40.
