We’re not your typical classroom! Camp Arrowhead offers 55 acres of fields, creeks, and wooded areas for your homeschooler to explore. Each Wednesday, students will learn though hands-on activities that focus on environmental, cultural, historical, and scientific topics.
Children, ages 5-15, will be broken up by age groups wherever possible. The program will run from9:30 am to 1:30 pm each Wednesday. We highly recommend registering ahead for supply and staffing purposes.
Please be sure to let us know of any dietary restrictions and/or allergies, as we may be making time-period snacks during the day or using food in activities. Your homeschooler should be prepared for each class with weather-appropriate attire, a lunch, water, and sneakers. There will need to be a minimum of 6 children to run any week’s programming.
YMCA Family Members- $35 per class; $28 per class when you register for all 7 classes
Program Members- $45 per class ; $38 per class when you register for all 7 classes.
NEW: Pool Pass: register for 4 out of the 5 sessions and receive an Arrowhead pool pass for the summer.
Sibling Discount: Receive $15 off each additional child when you register for the entire session

September 16th, Geocaching, How has orienteering evolved over the years? Learn about the new exploration craze Geocaching! Using a GPS system on your smart phone, IPad, or electronic device you can search for these hidden geocaching treasures. GPS devices will be provided.
September 23rd, The History of Archery, Learn about traditional and modern day archery as we learn about range safety, equipment, and shooting techniques. Students will learn to shoot with a variety of bows throughout the day.
September 30th, Egg-tastic, Can you keep your egg safe through a series of challenges? Students will work on their engineering skills as they create cars, boats, parachutes and more. Can your egg survive a 55 foot tower drop?
October 7th, The Farmhouse, Ever wonder where all our food comes from before it reaches the store? Trace your food back to the farm and learn what it takes to create a meal from scratch.
October 14th, Wind Tunnels, Class this day will be building a wind tunnel to experiment with tornado like weather. Explore flight path and density as we watch objects rise and fall. Students will also create their own anemometer.
October 21st, Making Music, A day full of music! Students will be making a variety of instruments as we create our own Arrowhead band. Instruments will include harmonicas, xylophones, tambourines, clink-clankers, a diddley bow, and more!
October 28th, Candy Creation, As we get ready for Halloween the class will be making their own candy creations and some healthy alternatives. Using science concepts and heating devices this class is sure to scare your hungers away!
