Maple Camp/ Adopt a Maple Tree

Designed for ages 8-13. Participants will go to the sugar bush, tap a real maple tree and learn how and why the sweet sap moves from the roots of the tree to the branches. We will then return to the sugar shack to boil sap and make sweet maple syrup

Saturday, March 5th and Sunday, March 6th 11am - Noon Each Day

 

Ages: 8 - 13

                       Charge:  Free!!!!

Description: Adopt a maple tree for free.  Your child(ren) will go to the woods and tap an actual maple tree.  I will explain how to identify a maple tree and how the sap moves from the ground to the limbs during the early spring.  We will then return to the shack to boil syrup and  get to sample syrup and candy.  I will provide pizza and a drink for all participants. 

    

Parents will need to be present to drive their children to the woods and back to the shack.

    

Class limited to the first 25 each day
