Join Friends of the Railroad, Inc. and Victor Hiking Trails for a family-friendly community event celebrating local railroad, trolley, and trail history in Fishers, NY.
The day begins at 9:00 AM with a guided hike on the Auburn and Lehigh Valley Trails. It’s a great opportunity for kids and families to enjoy the outdoors while learning about the area’s history and the connections between trails, railroads, and the community.
At 11:30 AM, we will dedicate the restored Rochester & Eastern Trolley Shelter and unveil a new Pomeroy historic marker recognizing the importance of this historic site. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 11:15 AM for the ceremony.
After the dedication, Friends of the Railroad will host a Chicken BBQ fundraiser catered by King’s Catering. Meals include 1/2 BBQ chicken, salt potatoes, macaroni salad, dinner roll and butter, and one bottle of water.
The NYC Cobblestone Pumphouse, built in the 1840s, will also be open for visitors. This is a great opportunity for kids and families to explore local railroad history, enjoy the trails, and support preservation efforts in the Victor and Fishers area.
Chicken BBQ meals are available by advance sale for $17.50, or $20.00 on the day of the event while supplies last. Advance orders are due by June 5.
Proceeds support Friends of the Railroad’s preservation, restoration, and educational efforts.
