HERITAGE MAKER WORKSHOP SERIES
Explore new skills from canning to blacksmithing during our Fall 2022 Heritage Maker workshops! Heritage Maker workshops are designed to create a supportive space for talented teachers and craftspeople to share traditional knowledge through fellowship and intensive instruction. Classes are relaxed, informative, and recognize the value in handmade arts and crafts. Past classes have included spoon carving, blacksmithing, food preservation, pysanky, and more.
Leave your screen behind this fall, escape to the forest, and use your hands to create something interesting!
Registrations are non-refundable as of 48 hours prior to the program you registered for.
CANNING FOR BEGINNERS
November 5 | 9:30am - 12pm
$15
Are you interested in canning but don't know where to start? Then this is the workshop for you! You'll work alongside CCE-certified Master Food Preserver Barb Brenner to learn the difference between boiling water bath canning and pressure canning, see the tools used for canning, learn about the process of preparing a jar for the canner and see many examples of canned goods. This is a hands-on program, and all participants will prepare a jar of vegetables and process it in a pressure canner.
